Groundwater & Drinking Water

In many parts of the world, access to clean drinking water is a problem. Fortunately, Denmark has so much clean groundwater that fresh water can be pumped directly from under the ground. However, clean groundwater is under threat in Denmark, so at the exhibit you can investigate where the pollution comes from and learn about what you can do to avoid polluting on a personal level.

The exhibit includes a huge animation where you can follow the water's journey through the Danish underground. Here, you can see how we pump billions of litres of fresh water out of the ground and into homes each year. You can even turn on the taps and find out how much water you use when you flush the toilet, take a shower or use the dishwasher.
